The two primary types of teeth straightening options are teeth aligners and braces. Both methods work by gradually shifting the position of the teeth, but they differ in appearance, materials, and how they’re worn.
Inman Aligner:
Teeth aligners are clear, removable trays custom-made to fit snugly over the teeth. They offer a discreet and convenient way to straighten teeth without the need for fixed brackets or wires.
Clear Aligners (eg Invisalign):
Clear aligners are a tailor made straightening system for your teeth. It involves a series of clear plates that are worn at all times except for eating. These plates gradually move your teeth into a more ideal position & are good for mild to moderate crowding.
Metal Braces
These are the most common form of braces for teeth straightening. Here at Lyons Dental we use Damon-Q self-ligating brackets. These modern brackets are much smaller and less noticeable than they used to be. They are by far the best option to straighten teeth as they give the most control of tooth movement.
Ceramic Braces
These braces have tooth coloured brackets which make them a less noticeable alternative to metal braces for teeth straightening.

We are not a big chain dental company, but do accept all health funds. We also process the health fund payments at each appointment, saving you the hassle of following up these payments yourselves.

We use clear communication & explanations to help minimise the fear associated with seeing the dentist. We also make sure to use topical & local anaesthetics, as well as nitrous oxide (happy gas) as required to ensure effective pain management. And a good distraction never hurts – our surgeries all have TVs on the ceiling to take your mind off whatever may be happening in your mouth! (A clear favourite with our kids!)
