These replace all the natural teeth in the mouth. They are usually made from acrylic & usually rely on suction to be held in place. Occasionally patients also use a denture adhesive if necessary. There is also the option to combine a full denture with implant therapy to help retain a full set of false teeth. In these cases the denture can be made to still be removable, or can be designed as a non-removable option.
artial dentures can be made to replace a single or many missing teeth. They can be made from acrylic or cobalt chrome. It is held in place usually by metal clasps that connects the denture to the other surrounding teeth. Both types of partial dentures have acrylic teeth & gum to make the teeth look natural. The benefit of a cobalt chrome base is that the metal is stronger than an acrylic base and we are able to make the denture smaller & more comfortable. Partial dentures are also useful in keeping the surrounding teeth in their natural position, preventing them from tilting or drifting into the space of the missing tooth/teeth.

We also make sure to use topical & local anaesthetics, as well as nitrous oxide (happy gas) as required to ensure effective pain management. And a good distraction never hurts – our surgeries all have TVs on the ceiling to take your mind off whatever may be happening in your mouth! (A clear favourite with our kids!)
